Class Description:

This class is an introduction to UV resin and will cover safety and how to use techniques. It is not necessary for students to have taken Class 1 or 2, as each class is a stand-alone class. Students will make two beautiful pieces. The first piece is made in a mold using baby lotion and mica powder with the resin. The second piece incorporates dried flowers in the resin in an open-back bezel.

Instructor Information:

Helene was born and raised in Golden, NM where she first saw how beautiful nature can be. Her mother and grandmother made beautiful, beaded leather jackets and moccasins for Pioneer Wear in Albuquerque. She sorted beads for them and watched them work and was drawn to the sparkle of beads at age 7 and has been designing art ever since. She has lived several places in the Southwest and has created jewelry, stained glass (she also had a stained-glass shop), and accessories. Some pieces were highlighted and sold through the New Mexico Uniqueables Catalog. She became interested in Resin about 3 years ago and has been educating herself ever since. Helene has found the combination of beads and resin satisfying and therapeutic and is excited to now be teaching others!
