Instructor Information:

I grew up in the calming mountains of Golden, New Mexico, where I saw how beautiful nature can be. My mother and grandmother made beautiful, beaded leather jackets and moccasins for Pioneer Wear in Albuquerque. I sorted beads for them and watched them work. I was so drawn to the sparkle of the beads that at age 7, I was inspired to make pieces of my own for friends. I eventually sold some pieces to friends who showed me how to get into craft fairs. I learned how to make stained glass and opened up a Golondrinas Stained Glass Studio in Tijeras, NM. I went to Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1970’s and while dancing was asked if I would want to dance professionally. I was offered a chance to dance with the Follies Bergere. I learned routines quickly, however after three years of hard work and torturing my body, I had to quit the Follies. I continued dancing on my own for another 15 years. However, as I grew older, I had to slow down. So now I keep myself busy with my hands. I started beading again and am surrounding myself with an amazing collection of beads. I still do craft shows and occasionally companies come around to look at my artwork. I was invited to sell a few of my pieces in the New Mexico Uniqueables Catalog. It was an amazing experience. About three years ago I took an interest in resin (thanks to YouTube videos). I started educating myself about resin and found the combination of beads and resin very satisfying and therapeutic. I have recently been invited to start teaching resin. Wow - what an opportunity!
