Class Description

Ready to dive into the world of jewelry knotting? Join our Tin Cup Necklace Knotting Class—no experience necessary! This beginner-friendly class is the perfect way to get started knotting while creating your very own beautiful necklace. We will make a 16–18” knotted necklace with clasp (or no clasp up to 24”) using easy to string beads onto cord. We will attach clamshell beads at each end to attach to the clasp and extension. Instructor Information:

Laura Bosch: Laura was born in Washington DC and lived most of her life in Silver Spring Maryland. She & her husband, Jonathan, moved here in 2023. She joined the Bead Society of NM even before moving here! Laura is our Facebook board member.  Majoring in crafts at the Univ of Maryland in the early 1970’s, her main focus was fabric arts like macramé and loom weaving. She started beading again in the 1990s, mainly seed beading amulet bags, earrings, bracelets. Now she does all kinds of beading. After working for a wholesale jewelry business in Maryland for 10 years, in 2002 she left to start her business Multibeadia. Selling first on eBay and now selling on Etsy, her store has a large  variety of stone beads, large hole beads, findings, tools, Czech glass beads, 2-hole beads & her own jewelry designs.  Store address is Multibeadia.etsy.com.   Bead Society members receive 10% off, and you can even make an appointment to buy in person.

Helen Yackel: Helen’s passion for jewelry making started in 2015 when a friend invited her to the Santa Fe Bead Fest. This event opened a whole new world for Helen, and she eagerly took her first jewelry-making classes there. Soon, she was designing and gifting jewelry to everyone she knew. Helen loves her studio “Zen” moments when she gets them. In 2018, she joined the Bead Society of New Mexico (BSNM) and has been an active board member for five years, serving as the BSNM President for the last two years. Helen thrives on collaborating with enthusiastic members, guest artists, bead shop owners, and fellow artists. She is always eager to learn new techniques and takes classes whenever she can. Helen draws inspiration from the stunning New Mexico landscapes, including the desert, plateaus, and lush mountains. She is constantly amazed by the beautiful jewelry and beadwork of others, especially other Bead Society members.
